Véronique Vial was born in France, in 1957. She studied mathematics, from which she soon changed to photography, deeply impressed after meeting with war-correspondent Jean Pierre Cannelle. Since 1989, Véronique Vial has been living mostly in Los Angeles. She is internationally renowned for her reportages, portraits and fashion photography. Her style is shaped not so much by the search for technical perfection, but rather by sensitive involvement with the particular topic, by unusual perspectives and background insight.
Particularly important for Vial is her close artistic relationship with the Cirque du Soleil and her work for musicians all over the world. Vials photos have appeared in magazines such as Marie Claire, Elle, Cosmopolitan or Paris Match. She has also set new standards in the field of advertising, influencing the appearance of brand names like Dove or Mexx.
The exhibit at the Atelier Jungwirth places empathetic morning portraits into the spotlight. Some of the most important female celebrities in fashion, theater and pop culture like Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Thompson or Holly Hunter featured in “Women Before 10 a.m.” will be displayed. The prominent shots will be shown for the first time in Austria. Complementing these, photographs of Til Schweiger, Jackie Chan and Karl Lagerfeld from Vial’s previously released book, “Men Before 10 a.m.,” will also be showcased at the Atelier.
All pictures on exhibition are available in four formats!
